About DRC
Deaf Resource Centre
Deaf Resource Centre is a non-governmental organization established to promote the development of the deaf community in Nigeria. We mobilize resources to open all kinds of opportunities to deaf Nigerians and support them in achieving their dreams. We believe that access to information is the bedrock of development, and the historical lack of accessible information for this community has hindered their growth in multiple ramifications.
We work to bridge this gap by promoting sign language literacy, providing professional sign language interpretation, and advocating for inclusive policy decisions in both government and private sectors.

DRC and NDA Unite During International Week of the Deaf 2026 The 2026 observance of International Week of the Deaf brought renewed attention to a persistent crisis in Nigeria: the systemic neglect of the linguistic and human rights of the Deaf community. Despite existing legal frameworks designed to protect persons with disabilities, millions of Deaf Nigerians continue to face severe marginalization in public and social spheres.
